Due to construction, we will not be running our normal 8-week camp program. Day Trippers and Mini Trippers will run as described below. We are SO looking forward to Summer 2024 when we are back for Camp Chaverim in FULL SWING!
Join us for 1 week, 2 weeks or all 3 weeks! We can’t wait to kick off the summer together. Based out of the Early Childhood Learning Center at Temple Israel, Camp Chaverim offers a nurturing, creative, and unique early camp experience for children. We are excited to launch the first two programs of our summer offering: Mini Trippers for campers entering PreK in the Fall of 2023 and Day Trippers for campers entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2023.
MINI TRIPPERS
Mini Trippers is exclusive to kids entering PreK in September 2023. Campers will meet 5 days a week: 9am to 2pm (Monday – Thursday) and 9am to 1pm (Friday) and experience outings around the UES on 3 of the 5 days each week.
The campers and counselors will travel, mostly by foot and sometimes by MTA buses, to many of the amazing neighborhood destinations that the UES has to offer. Past itineraries have included weekly swim lessons, playground visits, The Art Farm, The Craft Studio and The Gaga Center.
On the days campers are based at Temple Israel, they will experience art, music, sports, and movement explorations, and of course an interactive Shabbat celebration every Friday to close out the week.
DAY TRIPPERS
Day Trippers is exclusive to kids entering Kindergarten in September 2023. Campers will meet 5 days a week: 9am to 3pm (Monday – Thursday) and 9am to 1pm (Friday).
This group will participate in outings 4 out of the 5 days a week. Traveling to places on the UES, as well as other Manhattan neighborhoods, boroughs and even the tri-state areas. Over the years, Day Trippers have taken amazing adventures to the Statue of Liberty, Bronx Zoo, Liberty Science Center and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. Day Trippers campers may travel by public transport as well as chartered buses depending on the destinations.
Like Mini Trippers, Fridays will be spent at Temple Israel with fun, interactive experiences, and a Shabbat celebration.
ABOUT OUR CAMP
Both programs are led by our incredible Early Childhood educators, who are committed to providing your child with fun-filled, exciting, and age-appropriate program. This short program is the perfect way to kick off summer; groups spend time forming friendships, exploring new environments, bonding with their teachers, and having fun!
We are excited to plan this summer’s trips; the final itineraries for both programs will be shared a few weeks prior to the start of camp.
