The Jewish population of the U.S. has been a product of waves of immigration primarily from diaspora communities in Europe– many who were motivated by social, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, and for others it was seeking refuge from the dangers of antisemitism in Europe. Temple Israel is fortunate to have the opportunity to hear from our very own Cantor Irena Altshul, who will share her immigration story.
